Henry
Sanders

Salomon) 1918-1982
"I am striving, through my figurative
art, to say something
about the timelessness of the human condition.” Henry Sanders

Today,
the art of Henry Sanders is highly prized by collectors; his paintings
are held in private collections around the world.
Now some of Henry Sanders more outstanding works have been brought
together in this collection.
Of course you are not under any obligation to buy, but here is a unique
opportunity to collect the work of this master painter under full
guarantee.
On
viewing the original exhibition in 1954, Professor Michael Bullock
commented;
"The
keynote is a total harmony between subject matter and style
that can only arise out of an intense power of identification,
operating in a domain where it is both unexpected and rare,
that raises Henry Sanders' painting, drawings and scultures
of animals so far above the usual sentimental or purely
decorate treatments."

Henry
Sanders as a Draughtsman
Nobody
who is familiar with the creative processes of drawing and painting
will ignore the masterly ability of Sanders ne Saloman to draw.
Drawing was an obsession with him and he has left us a copious collection
of works on paper. The work on canvas and in Gouache is not really
understood without reference to his roots in the German and Continental
canons of draughtsmanship. To see Dürer with his curve counter
curve technique is to understand Sanders and his “urgent and
definite style” in delineating his chosen theme.
